Obituary of Susan Lynn Fisher

Age 73, of Vassar, died Sunday, July 12, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. In accordance with Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Reverend Scott Sherrill to officiate. The family will be present to receive guests from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Susan was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on April 26, 1947, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Glois (Spyker) Symon. As a young woman, Susan would meet Bernard Fisher. The two dated, fell in love, and in 1967, were united in marriage. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 15, 2019. Working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Susan worked at The Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth until her retirement. Susan's favorite time of the year was summer, where she could enjoy the sunshine and her garden. She was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma, and loved the holidays, especially Christmas. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, traveling, and vacationing.
Left to cherish Susan's memory are her children: Kelli Wescoat and husband, Don Poston Jr., Heather Miller, and fiance, Bill Noel; mother, Glois Symon; two sisters: Kathleen Dezelah and Maureen McGregor; eight grandchildren: Tyler Bender, Ryan Bender, and girlfriend, Lynden Collins, Austin Wescoat, Brooke Germain, Paige Germain, and boyfriend, Max Shaw, and Madelynn LaPratt; two great-grandchildren: Zayne Bender and Greyson Shaw, special friends, Dorothy Beach, and Pat and Kathy O'Toole; sisters-in-law: Carol Beyer and Kathy Fisher; and many, nieces, and nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Fisher, daughter, Hollie Fisher; grandson, Zachary Germain; and her father, James Symon.
