Helen was born on April 7, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Mary (Gracan) Maletic. When Helen was an infant, her family moved to Flint, where she was raised. Educated locally, Helen attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Central High School with the Class of 1947. After graduation, Helen began working as a dental assistant, for 10 years. Helen would meet the love of her life Leonard Grzeck, and they were united in marriage on May 5, 1956. The couple moved to Mt. Morris, and Helen began her most important role in life, as a devoted wife, mom, grandma, and homemaker. Helen was an active member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and later St. Mary Catholic Church. In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, golfing, bowling, and cake decorating.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory three children: Marie and husband, Bob Schwerin, Lee and wife, Vickie Grzeck, and Mathew Grzeck and wife, Alex Santorum; grandchildren: Amy, Gina, Rob, Andrew, Bryan, Sean, and Santiago; great-grandchildren: Tristan, Austin, Colton, Christian, Samantha, and Thomas; sisters and brothers: Millie Hampson, Dorothy Morrish, Betty and husband, Bill Roberts, John and wife, Alice Maletic, Bob and wife, Marla Maletic, Tom Maletic, and Carl Maletic; and many nieces; nephews; and extended family members.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Nathan’s Place and Grace Hospice for the love and care given to our mom.
