Obituary of Lillian Margarette Bruce

Age 98, of Flint, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. A graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 5, 2020, at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Lillian was born on January 6, 1922, in Germfask, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Lydia (Randa) Tervo. Raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Lillian was educated locally. While at a dance, she met the love of her life, Duncan Bruce. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 8, 1938, in Pontiac. The couple settled in Flint and raised their family. In 1954, Lillian would go to work at GM Ternstedt, working for over 36 years, and retiring in 1990. A devoted wife, mom, and grandma, Lillian loved her family very much. In her free time, Lillian enjoyed fishing with her husband, Duncan, gardening, and going to the casino.
Lillian leaves to cherish her memory two children: Marilyn Henley and Gil and wife, Sheila Bruce; six grandchildren: Sheila Miller, Linda Fuller, Cindy Shann, Shelly Miller-Colmus, Amie and husband, Doug Weir, and David and wife, Karie Bruce; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duncan; and son, Michael Bruce.
