Rene was an exceptionally friendly person who was always so enthusiastic when running into me at McDonald's. I remember her love in putting together all of those puzzles and she was very good at them, indeed! She even put together a picture-perfect puzzle of Minnesota for me then had them professionally framed. I sure appreciated that Rene, and I know that you are resting in the Lord's peaceful kingdom reunited with your little dog on your lap and probably working on a colorful puzzle of the Yellow Brick Road and what eternal happiness looks like;) My heartfelt thoughts go out to her wonderful family, especially Dann. Know for certain that she is in a much better place, especially in these trying times. Nothing truly dies as it were and this world was a better place with Rene's innocence. I will always admire the positive outlook that she had on a life that was filled with unusual challenges, challenges which are now over with and replaced with a new heavenly perfection that is everlasting.

Rene used to live in our sub, Devonshire Hills. She loved to walk her dog and visit our house. She was always so cheerful and friendly. Later we found out that my husband had been in boot camp in the 50’s with Bob. Small world! God’s blessings of comfort to the family. Nancy & Duain Lockwood

Rene was about 10 years old when her family moved into the house across from my family's home. This was circa 1970. Rene would explore the neighborhood on her red Schwinn bike, with her dog, Tippy, in tow. If we were out in the yard, which was fairly often, Rene would drop by with tales from the neighborhood. She was invariably friendly, sunny, and outgoing.
We lived in a cul-de-sac in which every neighbor had keys to each others' houses. Bob and Beverly Wallace were wonderful neighbors who befriended my folks. In fact, as my father's heath failed, they were most helpful to my mother. I'll never forget that kindness.
I left for college a few years after the Wallaces moved in, but would see them when I was home during school breaks,or when I was home for the summer. One constant was Rene and her bicycle. Actually, these were great times that will never be revisited in my lifetime, except in my memories.
The Wallaces moved away circa 1991, but they kept up with my folks. Mom passed away a few years ago, and I sold her house. I would see Rene and Bev occasionally at the Kroger store, and we'd visit.
Imagine my shock when I saw Rene's name on the "Honoring" sign as I drove by Martin's Funeral Home this afternoon. Bob, Bev, Dean, and Danny - my condolences to you. I hope that you will find solace in remembering the neighborhood as I described it.
Fondly,
Rob Cojeen

So sorry to hear about Rene. She was always part of our gang of kids, riding around Devonshire Hills in the summertime. I can just see her smiling away on her bike with "Tippy" not far behind. May she rest in peace.
