Obituary of James Leland Goodroe

Age 82, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Maple Woods Manor. A private burial took place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery.  A private Memorial Luncheon will be held at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Jim was born in Sterling, Michigan, on April 23, 1937, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin and Edna (Federspiel) Goodroe. He married the love of his life, V. Carol Kughn on January 25, 1958. Sadly, she preceded him in death on January 23, 2018. Together their union was blessed with two children: son, Kevin Goodroe, sadly, he preceded him in death on September 25, 2005, and daughter, Kellie Goodroe, she also preceded him in death on January 5, 2019. Jim was a Tool Maker for General Motors - Fisher 1 Plant for 31-years, retiring in 1991. Jim was a long-time member of UAW Locals #581, and #1292. In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his brother: Edward, and wife, Mary Goodroe; brother-in-law, David, and wife, Linda Kughn; sister-in-law, Margorie Goodroe; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. 

 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; daughter, Kellie; son, Kevin; brothers: Joseph Goodroe, Kenneth Goodroe, and Jack Goodroe; sister, Dorothy Johnroe.
