Obituary of Iris Lea Rouse
Age 80, of Flint, died peacefully at home, Monday, March 9, 2020, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 13, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Dale Lewis to officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Friday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Memorial donations may be directed to North Flushing Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Iris was born in Newaygo, Michigan, on February 1, 1940, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis and Betty (Riddle) Puff. As a young woman, Iris would meet the love of her life, Earl Oram. Sadly, he preceded her in death on August 14, 2019.
Iris began her career working at Beecher Community Schools, in the cafeteria, and then moved on to Venture Industries, where she devoted 15 years until retiring. Iris spent some time after retirement, working at the Northgate Bar and Auto City Eagles Club #3485. A devoted member of the Montrose Eagles Club #4090, Iris was also a dual member at Auto City Eagles Club #3485. In her free time, Iris enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas, with her beloved Earl, fishing, and camping at Myers Lake, gardening, canning tomatoes, and birdwatching.
Left to cherish Iris’ memory are her three daughters: Julie (Tim), Sherry, and Teresa "Susan"; four sons: James, Jesse (Misty), Wayne, and Mark; three sisters; one brother; many grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren: Julianna Jade, Braxton, Calvin, Keith, Jr., Cody, Kasey, and Makenzie.
Iris was preceded in death by the love of her life: Earl; parents; daughter: Paula; son: Gary; sisters: Sally, Joyce, and Dawn; brother: Ellis (John).
