Joan was born on November 21, 1938, in Flint. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Martha (Burneo) Palencak. Joan spent most of her years working for Sears & Roebuck while raising her children. She retired from Sears in 1986. Joan met and married Clifford Voorheis. Together, they resided in Midland, where she continued to work part-time in banking and retail. Sadly, he preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. Joan then relocated to Clio. Throughout her life, she was an active and devout member of the Catholic Church. Joan enjoyed spending time with her twin sister, listening to Polka music and shopping at flea markets and garage sales. She also enjoyed crafting and playing cards in her neighborhood card club. She was especially close to her nephew Rodney and nieces Annette and Peggy.
Left to cherish her memory, are her children: Dennis (Lori), Susan (Larry), Karen (Mark), Mary (Herb); sister: Jean (Bill); many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clifford, sister, Pat and her beloved dog Ralphie.
