Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Eckstein
Age 89, of Mt. Morris, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 24, 2020, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Kevin Dixson to officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. And again on Friday, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy and donations to the Mt. Betty was born in Flint, on May 8, 1930, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Julia (Mierta)
Elizabeth worked for the Mt. Morris Driver's License Bureau for many years in the 1970s. In her free time, Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, completing crossword puzzles, and was an avid George Straight fan. She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Days of Our Lives, and Flea Marker Flip.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Pam and husband, Gordon "Pete" Boomer, and Kimberly Perry; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Chastain; and her brother, James Makin; and many other family members.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Dick"; two sons: Jeffery and Randy; sister, Elaine; brother, Bill; special uncle, Frank Cajka; stepfather, Alex Markin; and in-laws, Paul and wife, Erma Eckstein.
