Obituary of Geary Lee Koglin
Age 76, of Grand Blanc, died at his home on Thursday, December 26, 2019, with his family by his side. A funeral service will be held at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Grand Blanc, on Friday, January 3, 2019, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Pastor Joe Cottam will officiate. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday, January 2, 2019, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Geary was born on April 28, 1943, in Detroit, to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd and Ingeborg (Melin) Koglin. He spent his teens living in Alpena, Michigan, where he developed a love for photography. This led to Geary enlisting in the United States Air Force as a photographer. In 1964, Geary was honorably discharged from the Air Force and came home to Detroit. Geary would go on to apply for a position with a photography company, where he would meet his future wife, Margaret. A year later, Geary and Margaret began dating. On June 25, 1966, Geary and Margaret began their lives together. Geary loved nature, fishing, hunting, precision shooting, flying, ice skating, playing guitar, and was a gifted singer.
Geary was survived by his wife: Margaret, sons: Erik and wife, Kristin Heather, and Sean and wife, Kristin Ann, grandchildren: Victoria, Alexandra, Joshua, Douglas, Daniel, and Devin, and siblings: Lynne Maria Rotier and Geoffrey William Koglin.
Geary was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents: Erik K and Helmie Meling.
