Obituary of Kevin Arvid Hamilton

Age 63, of Westland, formerly of Vassar, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of  Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 16, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar. Kevin’s family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Vassar on Sunday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. On Monday, the family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to Wee One Foundation or the Hamilton Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.

Kevin was born on November 8, 1956, in Sault Ste Marie, the son of Arvid and Thoera (Harrison) Hamilton. Raised in Pickford, he graduated from Pickford High School with the class of 1975. Kevin would go on and pursue his education at Michigan State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Turf Grass Management. After graduation, Kevin moved to Vassar to work for the Vassar Golf and Country Club. He spent 27 years at the golf course, where he was the superintendent and general manager While working in Vassar, Kevin would meet the love of his life, Kim Lee. The two dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 9, 1983. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, watching sports, snowmobiling, and hunting.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Kim; son, Ian, and wife, Krista Hamilton; daughter, Taylor, and husband, Joe Wagner;  grandchildren: Braxton Wagner, Zoey Hamilton, and Baby Wagner on the way; parents: Arvid and Theora Hamilton; brother, Kurt Hamilton; sister, Joni, and husband, Steve Peffers; mother-in-law, Donna Lee; and several nieces; nephews, and friends.
