Obituary of Verna Helena Hennagir
Age 90, of Clio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Clio. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Verna’s family will be present to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Thursday, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Friday morning, Verna will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family.
Verna was born in Saginaw, on September 18, 1929, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto and Lillian (Rodammer) Zuellig Sr. Verna married the love of her life, Garrie Hennagir on October 29, 1948. Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. She worked on the assembly line at AC for 31 years. In her free time, Verna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and golfed on the AC league for many years. Verna enjoyed woodworking and wood carving, fishing, traveling, cooking and baking; she also enjoyed making homemade wine and playing Euchre, and Rummy, she also played softball for the Beecherettes in the 1950s.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Helene and husband, David Weber, and Juanita Gethicker; two grandchildren: David and wife, Kristi Weber, and Deanna and husband, Salvador Guerra; six great-grandchildren: Anna, Garrie, Salvador, Kendra, Lilana, Luciano; sister, Barbara Bierlein; sisters-in-law, Irene Schluckebier, and Janith Hennagir; several nieces, and nephews.
