Age 95, of Davison, formerly of Livingston County, died on November 25, 2019. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Howell, at a later date.

Helen was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on July 19, 1924, to Fredrick and Gladys (Sutcliff) Schafer. Raised in the farm town of Nashua, Iowa, Helen moved to Detroit when she was 18, to work for the phone company. That’s where she met her first husband, Samuel Nelson Williams, and they married a year later in 1943. Sadly he preceded her in death in the spring of 1991. In 1995, she eloped with Harold Ridsdale, in Ohio. Harold preceded her in death in May of 2005. Helen loved crafting, baking, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her grandchildren: Sheila and husband, Don Dao, Christopher and wife, Rachelle McCrum, April and husband, Craig Wright, and Amy and husband, Jason Croff; great-grandchildren: Colby McCrum, Haleigh McCrum, Isabella McCrum, Race Eckles, and Helena Croff; sons-in-law: Kenneth McCrum and Dale Huber, brother: Jimmy Schafer, and cousin, Marvel Wedeking.
