Obituary of Arthur LeRoy Wagner
Age 84, of Vassar, died Friday, November 1, 2019, at his home. In accordance with Art’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Art was born May 24, 1935, in St. Ignace, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Eleanor (Thomas) Wagner. As a young man, Art came to Flint and went to work for Buick, where he spent 31.5 years before retiring in 1982 as a fork truck driver. He was a member of the UAW #599 and the Vassar Eagles #2380. Art and Sarah Hartwick were united in marriage on September 1, 1973, in Saginaw, and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Art enjoyed the outdoors, camping, watching car races and boxing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sarah; two sons: James and wife, Kelly Wagner and George Wagner; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny; daughter, Melody; and two brothers and one sister.
