Obituary of Mary Ellen Pinder
Age 89, of Flint, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at her residence. A celebration of her life will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mount Morris. Mary Ellen’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial donations to the Dementia Society of America. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mary was born December 21, 1929, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen McKinley and Olive Beatrice (Snyder) Westbrook. Educated locally, Mary would go on to work for AC Spark Plug for 39 years. She was a proud member of the UAW Local # 651. Mary Ellen was an accomplished seamstress and avid crochet crafter. She was not often found without a crochet hook in her hand. Of all her accomplishments, she was the proudest of building her own home, while raising her four children, and working full time. She was an amazing woman and will be greatly missed
Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Mevelyn J. Wolfin, Prudence H. Munger, Donald J. “DJ” Bentley, and Leslie Savage; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her beloved pet cats; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ralph Westbrook, and sister, Elaine (Miller) Pruitt.
