Vickie was born on February 23, 1951, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Darlene (Perior) Holsinger. Educated locally, she grew up and attended the Genesee Schools. She earned a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1971, from Mott Community College. While working in Oscoda, MI, she met her soulmate Theodore (Ted) Schaub, and they married on September 9, 1972.
They began their family in East Lansing, where Vickie supported her husband as he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. Upon his graduation, they moved to the Chicago area for three years before moving back to Michigan and settling close to her hometown (Otisville and, later, Mt. Morris). She left her profession to raise her four children, their children, and all of their friends.
Vickie had a passion for antiquing, shopping, baking treats, road trips, but, most of all, spending time with her family and closest friends. She was known for having a great sense of humor and being able to strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone. She enjoyed spending time with her lifelong Genesee friends; especially, the Traveling Aunts.
She was a giving and helpful person; caring for her grandmother and mother late in their lives.
Vickie is survived by her husband and best friend: Dr. Ted Schaub; children: Juliet Schaub, Rachel and husband, Bryan Chapman, Thomas and wife, Amanda Schaub, Casey and wife, Chelsea Schaub; grandchildren: Cassidy and husband, Ka’Juan Blanks, Callie, Alex, Chloe, Ben, Ella, Willow, Jonah, and Claudia; and great-grandson: Franklin. She was also survived by her sister Wendy and husband, Bill Howell and brother Mike and wife, Kathy Holsinger.
