Obituary of Judith Ann McAllister
Age 74 of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at McLaren-Flint, with her family by her side. Per Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will gather to receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. Memorial donations may be directed to the Michigan Special Olympics. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Judy was born November 27, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Mary (Randall) Blumenschein. Raised in Grand Rapids, she would meet Charles McAllister. The two dated and were united in marriage on November 27, 1965. Together they moved to Swartz Creek, where they raised their family, and sadly he preceded her in death on January 29, 2014. Judy worked at Elmer Knopf Learning Center for over 30 years. She was an active volunteer for the Michigan Special Olympics and was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma. She enjoyed painting drawing, gardening, and was known for her chocolate making.
Left to cherish her memory are three children: Tracy and husband, Brian Fairchild, Brian McAllister, and Matt and wife, Lorie McAllister; seven grandchildren: Amanda, Samantha, Matthew, Sidney, Andrew, Gigi, and Rosie; brothers: Butch Ross and Henry and wife, Pam Ross; sisters-in-law: Beverly Reynolds, Sharon and husband, Michael Curtin, and Bonna and husband, William Conroy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and brother, William.
