Obituary of Jayne Pearl Horton
Age 80, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Genesys Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, Friday, August 2, 2019, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Auxiliary Captain Mike Quick officiating, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Jayne's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Salvation Army Beecher Corp or the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan - Flint Branch. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Jayne was born in Flint, on October 8, 1938, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Adda (Tubbs) Killbreath. She married Wayne Horton on June 6, 1968, in Flint. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 10, 2006. She worked as a Lunchroom Supervisor for the Beecher School District for many years before retiring. In her free time, Jayne loved spending time with her family and friends, crafting, crocheting, and needlepoint. She was a long-time member of the Flint/Beecher Salvation Army as well as a long-time volunteer for the Mobile Food Pantry/Salvation Army Beecher/Flint Chapter.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debra Jones, Raymond (Kathy) Johnson, and Phillip (Gail Bower) Horton; grandchildren: Julie (Ricky) Williams, Matthew (Jenny) Johnson, Laura Johnson, great-grandchildren: Alexis and Ricky Williams, Isabelle, Sophia, and Grace Johnson; brother, Floyd (Shirley) Killbreath; sister, Patricia Taylor; special friend, "Miss Betty;" and many other family members and friends.
Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne; and her brother.
