Obituary of Darlene Alice Braden
Age 77, of Mt. Morris, passed away with her family by her side, Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski will officiate, and cremation will follow.
On Thursday, May 23, 2019, family and friends will gather from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with the Rosary being prayed at 5:00 pm. Darlene will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Darlene was born July 29, 1941, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore and Alice (Wallington) Koss. As a busy homemaker, Darlene raised three daughters, her greatest accomplishment in life, and volunteered in countless ways with their activities. She would go on to work for Citizens Bank as a Payroll Supervisor, where she worked for 22 years until her retirement in 2002. While raising her daughters, she met Frank Braden. The couple dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on April 21, 1985. Together, they enjoyed traveling, nature, gardening and spending time with their family. Darlene also enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, and participating with the Red Hat Granny’s.
Left to cherish her memory are husband, Frank “Lou” Braden; three daughters: Angela Warren, Susan (William) Ledbetter, and Christina (Dale) Juhl; stepchildren: David (Pam) Braden, Pamela (William) Sarver; and Sean Braden; 16 grandchildren: Joshua, Samantha, Paula, Erica, Shauna, Ashlyn, Alexis, Elizabeth, Katie, Kristy, Logan, Shelby, Cade, Alexander, Austen, and Adrianna; 3 great-grandchildren: Blaze, Porter, and Wixom; siblings: Ken (Diane), Judy (Terry), and Linda (Harvey); and many dear extended family members and friends.
