Obituary of Betty Lou Poland
Age 86, of Flint, went to be with our Lord and Savior, on Saturday, March 23, 2019. The funeral service will take place 12:00 noon, Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. With burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Betty Lou was born November 7, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Emma (Moore) Potter. She and Charles Poland were united in marriage on November 7, 1959, in Genesee. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2015. Betty Lou was an active member of First Baptist Church of Clio and cherished her church family.
Betty Lou enjoyed playing bingo, cake decorating, bowling, crafting, gardening, antiquing and spoiling her birds and dogs. She was a longtime volunteer with the Federation of the Blind, helping the group in countless ways, and she dearly loved her nieces and nephews.
Betty Lou leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Helen Palmer, Frances Palmer, Jane Bradley; several special nieces; nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and several siblings.
