Obituary of Phyllis Jean Stadler
Age 91, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, in Ascension St. Mary's Hospital. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Phyllis' family will be present at the funeral home to receive guests on Thursday, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm; with the burial of cremated remains in the spring at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
She was born in Flint, Michigan, on December 3, 1927, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Jasper and Velda Irene (Green) Currell. Phyllis graduated from Beecher High School, class of 1946. She married the love of her life, Jesse Stadler, on July 10, 1946, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, he preceded her in death on December 20, 2007. In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crossword puzzles, crocheting, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed her "Wednesday Night Therapy Group," spending summers at Higgins Lake, traveling with her husband Jesse and bowling. She was a long-time member of the Mt. Morris Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Left to cherish her memory four children; Raymond "Ray" (Cathy) Stadler, Ron (Esther) Stadler, Rick (Vicky Lynn) Stadler, Kimberly (David) Chaney; ten grandchildren: Mark (Ellen) Stadler, Dawn (John) Patterson, Keri Stadler, Justin Stadler, David Stadler, Amelia Stadler, Sabrina Stadler, Jessica Stadler, Jason (Erica) Stadler, Kelsie Chaney; many great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Gerald (Kathleen) Stadler, Ray Cloutier; special friends from her "Wednesday Night Therapy Group, and the Higgins Lake families," and many other family members and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; son, Ralph; two sisters: Irene Currell, and Eva Joyce McCollum.
