Obituary of Susan Irene Williams
Susan Irene Williams, age 71, of Clio, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at her home with her family by her side. In accordance with Susan’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at New Covenant Church in Clio with Pastor Barry Briggs officiating. A memorial gathering will take place at the church from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
Susan was born in Orange, California on October 16, 1947, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Irene (Phillips) Burton. She graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School class of 1965. Susan and Lawrence “Art” Williams were united in marriage on February 12, 1983, in Las Vegas and will be celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary. She would work for many years at Bronner’s Christmas Store in Frankenmuth. Susan was a member of the New Covenant Church in Clio and taught preschool classes for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren attending all of their activities, gardening her flowers beds and spending her time with her husband at antique car shows.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Lawrence "Art" Williams; three daughters: Suzette and husband Jeff Merket, Janice and husband, Michael Lee and Joanna Stratman (Bob Nelson); ten grandchildren: Dakota Walthall, Mathew Benham, Jonathan Benham, Bradley Benham, Taylor Morris, Braden Walthall, Joseph Benham, Sierra Morris, Cooper Walthall and Kayla Benham; sister: Janet Chambers; niece: Susie Rankins; and special family: Paul and Emily White.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
