Obituary of Ivan Russell Lockrey

Age 79, of Marion, Michigan, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Saint Thomas West Hospital, in Nashville, Tennessee, while visiting his daughter and son-in-law. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 12:00 noon, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services of Mount Morris, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park.  Ivan’s family will be present to receive guests on Monday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Those desiring may make contributions to the family, care of Sherry Lockrey. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Ivan was born in Flint on December 8, 1939, to Mr. and Mrs. Russel and Ida (Gilbert) Lockrey.  Ivan married Sherry Slusser on September 20, 1963, in Flint. Their union bore three beautiful children. Ivan would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army for two years. Upon his return home, he would go to work for General Motors. He retired from General Motors in 1992, after 30 years of service.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Sherry Lockrey;  two sons, Brian and Jeff and wife, Tanya Lockrey; daughter, Tina and husband, James Lemon III; grandchildren: Aaron and wife, Vanessa Lemon , Jacob and wife, Sarah Lemon, Cameron and Jaden Lockrey; great-grandchildren: Kenley and Rylan Lemon; brothers, Ted Lockrey, Donald and wife, Gail Lockrey; sisters, Loretha, Hertha, Patricia and Freda and many nieces, and nephews.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Zackary Lockrey;  granddaughter, Ashely Renee Lemon; sister, Norma Barns; and brothers, Glen Lockery and Kenneth Lockrey.
