Obituary of Marie Killion
Age 88, of Mt. Morris, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at Genesys Health Park Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:30 am, Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, on Friday, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. On Saturday morning, Marie will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:30 am until the time of funeral mass at 11:30 am. On Friday evening, family and parish will gather to pray the rosary at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary’s Altar Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Marie was born on November 21, 1930, in Flint, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles and Hazel (Bamberg) Kanaby. She graduated from Harbor Beach High School. Marie and Ira were united in marriage on May 7, 1955, in Ruth, Michigan. Sadly, he preceded her in death on September 5, 2006. She worked for 38 years at General Motors AC Spark Plug before she retired. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, cooking and baking, gardening and quilting. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Douglas Killion, Dale and wife, Ann Killion, and Dan Killion; four grandchildren: Jeremy Killion, Tyler and wife, Kelly Chambers, Emily and husband, Taylor Boaz, and Brooke Killion; and two sisters: Dorothy Torok and Peggy and husband, John Messing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Killion, daughter, Debbie Chambers, parents, and sister, Shirley Tenbusch.
