Obituary of Janice Diane Goodchild
Janice Diane Goodchild, age 76 years, of Caro, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Martin Funeral, Cremation &Tribute Services in Fairgrove on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 11:00 am. In accordance with Janice's wishes, cremation has taken place. Janice's family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to receive guests from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church, Watrousville United Methodist Church or to the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Janice was born in Owosso, Michigan, on Monday, January 4, 1943, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal and Gladys (Elwell) Batteen. She married John Goodchild on Sep 14, 1974, in Reese, Michigan. Janice worked as a Book Keeper for Reese Farmer's Co-op for many years. In her free time, Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends - especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time in the Florida Keys enjoying the warm weather, fishing with John, sewing, and bowling.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John; two children: David Goodchild, Jeffrey and wife, Mary Jo Goodchild; seven grandchildren: Carly Ann and husband Mike Thompson, Garrett Goodchild, Caroline Goodchild, Grant Goodchild, John "Hank" Goodchild, Ashton Goodchild, Cecilia Goodchild; great-granddaughter, Alayna Thompson; brother, Reynold and wife, Judith Batteen, and many other family members and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
