Obituary of Joyce Elizabeth Deal
Age 86, of Clio, died Monday, January 14, 2019, at McLaren Flint. The funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon, Friday, January 18, 2019, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services of Mount Morris. Joyce’s family will be present to receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the funeral at 12:00. Those desiring may make a contribution to the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Mount Morris, on August 26, 1932, the daughter of Mr.& Mrs. Maurice and Frances (DeBarr) Clement. She attended Mount Morris schools but graduated from Adult Education High School in 1987. She raised two beautiful children, Cynthia “Cindy” and John Michael “Mike.” After her children were out of the house, she devoted herself to her work at General Motors. For 42 years she worked at AC Spark plug, retiring in 1993. Because she lived alone, the plant became her home, working as much overtime as she could. Joyce was an active member of the UAW local #651, sitting on the board of trustees. In her retirement, she could be found playing cards with her friends or watching her beloved QVC. Before her health declined, Joyce would take trips with her family and her fellow UAW members.
Left to cherish her memory are children: John Michael “Mike” Deal and, Cathy Robison, Cynthia Kay “Cindy” and husband, Ron Roman; grandchildren: Mileah and husband, Chris Hoffman, Jennifer Nordman and partner, Cory Ladd, Becky Fee, Lori and husband, Dave Taylor; great-grandchildren: Tony Cream, Taylor Cream, Mykenzye Irwin, Grant Hoffman, Ambrielle Hoffman; brother, Bill and wife, JoAnn Clement, special friend, JoAnn Schabel and special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Norine Deal.
