Obituary of Lyle J Laidler
Lyle J. Laidler, age 83, passed away at home, on December 28, 2018, and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In accordance with Lyle’s wishes cremation has taken place. The service will take place Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 am at Trinity Assembly of God-4363 W Mt Morris Rd. Mt Morris, Michigan. Reverend Bill Christensen to officiate.
Lyle was born on May 14, 1935, in Flint, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Mildred Laidler. He proudly served in the United States Marines during the Korean War, until receiving his honorable discharge. He married Muriel Wyles on December 7, 1957, in Flint. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2015. Upon returning to civilian life, Lyle became a floor covering installer for 18 years; from there he would begin his career with Buick, retiring after 25 years of service. Lyle was a long-time member of UAW Local #599. In his free time, Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, building sheds, spending time with his family and friends, and going to church. He met Ruby Martin at a Bible study class at Trinity Assembly of God Church, they fell in love and were united in marriage on December 14, 2016, in Mt. Morris.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby Laidler; two sons’: Chris and wife, Penny Laidler, and Cary and wife Mandy Laidler; stepdaughters: Karla Martin, and Gail Guenther, and husband Gary; granddaughter, Ashley, and husband, Damian Rodriguez; step-grandchildren: Tisa Harbert, Bianca Hatfield, Gabriel Gunther, Jacob Gunther; many nieces, and nephews and many friends in Christ.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Muriel, two sisters Caroline Hoffman, and Doris Crain.
