Obituary of LeRoy Frank Young
Age 84, of Cocoa, Florida, formerly of Mt. Morris, Michigan, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Viera Hospital in Melbourne, Florida. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, December 17, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and again on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
LeRoy was born on April 16, 1934, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Raymond and Agnes (Brenner) Young. He and Catherine Blackmer were united in marriage on January 22, 1955, in Otter Lake. LeRoy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was formerly employed at Ed LaBean House before working at G.M. as an Overhead Crane Operator, He also worked for the Mt. Morris School system as a Bus Driver, retiring with 26 years of excellent service. LeRoy Served as a State of Michigan Delegate and Past President of Golden Chariots Chapter 27. He was also a member of the NCHA and the Adverts since 1959. In his free time, he enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing and watching the History Channel.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years: Catherine Young; two children: LeRoy and wife, Wendy Young, Kathleen and husband, Gerard Hildebrandt; one daughter-in-law: Jennifer Bland; eight grandchildren: Randy and wife, Phyllis Stebbins, Gerard II and wife Kirsten Hildebrandt, Richard and wife, Mallory Young, Josh Young, Troy Young and fiancee, Kacy Killmer, Jennifer and husband, Brian Kindlinget, Justin Bland, Cody Bland; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister: Mary Hearl.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his daughter, Beatrice Stebbins, son, Richard Young, parents, Raymond and Agnes Young, and sister, Darlene Fink.
