Obituary of Joyce L. Forgo
Joyce L. Forgo, age 81, of Greenbush, Michigan, formerly of Genesee, passed away, Thursday, November 29, 2018, with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life will take place Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at 11:00 am, at VisionPointe Assembly of God, 9444 E. Dodge Rd. Otisville, Michigan. Pastor Tom Forgo officiating. Family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of the service. Visitation will be at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Tuesday, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. An Order of the Eastern Stars Memorial Service conducted by O.E.S. 282 Nourmahal, Otisville will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, those desiring, please consider memorial donations to VisionPointe Assembly of God. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Joyce was born in Flint, on November 27, 1937. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. and Ruth E. (Oliver) DeWitt. She married Andy Forgo on February 8, 1958, at the Genesee United Methodist Church. She studied at Baker College receiving her associate degree. She worked as a secretary for Buick Engineering for 10 years, retiring to raise her family. Joyce loved spending time with her family, friends and attending church. She loved to bake and cook especially her Hungarian specialties. She also loved camping, traveling, crafting, playing corn hole, shuffleboard and card games. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and Michigan Football Fan.
Left to cherish her memory loving husband, Andy; daughter, Vicki and husband, Dan Goetz; son, Tom and wife, Delena Forgo; four grandchildren: Rachel Forgo, Kyle and wife, Jen Goetz, Patrick Forgo, Katie and husband, Ron Bellamy; three great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Brayden, and Ty; two siblings: Marlene Nickert, Bill and wife, Carol DeWitt; and many other family members, friends, Eastern Star friends, and neighbors.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Jim, Audrey, and Marvin.
