Ray was a great neighbor and I enjoyed the times we would talk while he was out working in his flowers or walking his dogs. Ray often shared stories of his past when he was younger that were enjoyable to hear. He will be missed.

Ray Porter was a caring, loving man and very devoted to his wife and family. His wife was the charm of his life which made them inseparable. They walked with Jesus and they will keep walking with him. We love and miss you. Nancy and Earle

Mr. Porter was always so friendly to me and to my brothers while we were growing up. He sweetly tolerated skateboard ramps out in the street in front of his house for full Saturdays at a time. For one summer, I brought my horse home frequently and kept him in a makeshift paddock in the open field next to The Porters’ house. I remember that he was always very good-natured. He’s been so wonderful to my parents over the years with neighborly favors while my folks were out of town. But almost more than anything, I remember Mr. Porter’s kind-heartedness toward animals. His dogs and cats were always the healthiest happiest pets on the block. I hope Jesus puts Ray in charge of some small part of the animal kingdom now that he’s gone “home”. God Bless you Ray.

Ray, you will be missed by all your neighbors and especially Mike and I. We were blessed to have you in our life for 40 years You always had a smile on your face and little stories to tell us about Vonda. You were so proud of her. You surprised me many a time with a bouquet of roses from your garden. You knew all our my kids and even their birthdays. They were sad to hear of your passing. You were the guardian of our house when we were away and we always knew our flowers would be watered and our mail picked up. Thank you so much again. Mike and I will miss you very much. You were a wonderful friend.
