Obituary of Marjorie Ann Wilkinson
Marjorie Wilkinson, age 83, of Vassar, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family. The funeral service will take place Monday, November 12, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services in Vassar, with burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Marjorie’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and again on Monday, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Marjorie was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, on February 11, 1935, to the late Mr. & Mrs. James and Helen (Marlatt) McCarthy. Marjorie was employed at Mason Tackle, as a machine operator. On May 28, 1955, she married the love of her life, Gordon Dean Wilkinson. The two met through Gordon’s sister Phyllis and went to a movie on their first date. Gordon and Marjorie were married for 45 years until Gordon’s death in 2001. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gordon Wilkinson Jr., Leonard Wilkinson, David Wilkinson, Steve and wife, Kim, Wilkinson, Douglas Wilkinson, Donna Gamm, Kevin “Pete,” and wife Patty Wilkinson; grandchildren: Jon Wilkinson, Amanda and husband, Josh Doud, Stephanie and husband, Jordan Kerr, Charlotte Wilkinson, Doris and husband, Dylan Moser, Michael and wife, Amber Wilkinson, Leeann Smith and partner, Brad Smith, Jamie Gamm, Jessica and husband, Jeramy Kady, Trisha and husband, B.J. Martin, Shannon and husband, Anthony Partin, Cheyanne McCarty; great-grandchildren: Jameson, Weston (on the way), Tristen, Elijiah, Livia, Alexis, Kaden, Kylie, Keeley, Teagan, Chase, Emily, Madison, Mia, Jacob, James, Marshall, Kayla, Audrey, Alaster, Colten, Braylon, Lucas, J.T., Kayla; brother, Donald and wife Ruth, McCarthy, half-sister, Mary Jo and husband, Randy Von Felt. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus Hospice, especially Cassie, and nurse Lindsey with St. Mary’s of Saginaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Robert McCarthy Donna Jean McCarthy, Beatrice McCarthy, Jim McCarthy; step-father, Joe Thomas.
