Obituary of Walter "Butch" Alexander Hicks
Walter Hicks, age 72, of Mt. Morris, died, Friday, October 19, 2018, at McLaren Flint, after a long and extended illness. The funeral celebrating Butch’s life will take place 12:00 noon, Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mount Morris. Butch’s family will receive friends at the funeral home, on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.
Butch was born in Richmond, Virginia, on March 16, 1946, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Jr. and Frances (Fiorillo) Hicks. He was well known in the area for his work at Diamond Jim’s Auto and Tire Service Center. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3609 of Clio. Bud enjoyed camping, golfing with his buddies, and traveling. He could also be found four-wheeling with his Flinstone’s four-wheeling group. He was a good husband, great father, and wonderful grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jill Hicks; children: David and wife, Genise Hicks, Leslie Hicks, Dwight and wife, Nadine Hicks; grandchildren: Andrew J. Hicks, Jakob and wife, Kaitlyn Hicks, Tori Hicks, Lucas Hicks, Lia Fedricogo, Gina Fedricogo, Rocco Fedricogo; great-grandson, Koal; brother, Charles and wife, Judy Hicks; aunt, Betty Fiorillo, and extended family in Texas, father-in-law, Ray Roache; brother-in-law, James Roache, sister-in-law, Cathy and husband, David Clark; many nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Danish and his staff for the compassionate care they gave, and Dr. Demirci and his staff at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Kellogg eye care center in Ann Arbor.
