Obituary of Charles L. Bennett
Charles “Chuck” Bennett passed away at his home on Monday, October 1, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Mt.Morris Church of Christ, 1262 South St. Mt. Morris, MI 48458. Chuck's family will be present that the church to receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Jim Watson officiating. In accordance with Chuck's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Charles was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1934. He is the son of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin and Verna Bennett. He is one of four children. He was a member of The Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Charles served in the United States Navy. He was a millwright out of Local #1102 which he retired from. Chuck enjoyed big family gathering which he and his wife, Addie often had. Chuck was a man ready to go in the drop of a hat. He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their camper. Chuck’s main hobby was woodworking and restoring old furniture; he also enjoyed putting puzzles together and had quite a large collection. Chuck was a man who was more than happy to lend a helping hand no matter how large or small the project was. You could find him with a hammer dangling from his tool belt or a wrench in his hand and has guided his grandchildren through many car repairs.
Chuck is survived by, daughter, Vickie Bentley & husband, Randy; son, Gary Tyree & wife, Diane; daughter, Terry Davis & husband, Steve; daughter, Kim Bryant & husband, Dan, daughter, Shannon Fries. 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, June Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, wife Addie, three brothers.
