I met Paula when she was living at Independence Village. My in-laws were living there at the same time and Paula was always so helpful with all the residents and looked out for my Mother in law who had dementia. We lost my mother in law in January of 2017 and my father in law moved to Gross Assisted living. Recently I found out that the McCormicks were living in Gross Assisted living and I visited with her on a few occasions as well as her husband when visiting my Father in law. Paula was such a lovely woman, VERY classy and genuine. I will be praying for you all as you go forward in the days ahead.

Paula was a wonderful friend to my mother, Mary Vesterfelt, at Independence Village. They had many happy and fun times together and even a few road trips together. I will miss seeing her when I visit Frankenmuth. May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time.

I am so saddened to learn of Aunt Paula's passing. She has always been one of the pillars of our family. Through every major event from birthdays to Christmases to graduations to marriages and births she could always be counted on. Pheasant season, especially opening day...for the McCormicks, small game fire arms season always began and ended at her house. I always called her my favorite Aunt and she would give it to me right back and say I was her favorite nephew. And I was, except for Dennis and Ted and Harold and Alec and Ronnie and all of the other little McCormick kids. Somehow being tenth favorite on her list wasn't so bad because she always made me feel like #1. Our family has lost one our crown jewels, but so has the whole Clio area. Having lived there her whole life she was a walking encyclopedia on the history of Clio, at least from the time of her early childhood. One thing she told me that sticks out is the onions. When she was a little girl all of the fields around her house were planted in onions. She said that she could always remember the smell. Not an acrid oniony smell, but a delicious scent of sweet onions, dark earth and summer breeze. And that's how I will remember her: Sweet smells, warm summer days and good times. Go with God, Aunt Paula. You will be missed by many.
