Timothy was born in Flint, MI on December 23, 1948, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Sewell and Vera (Martin) Munger. He graduated from Mount Morris High School in 1967, where he played in the orchestra. His studies would bring him to the Hurley School of Nursing where he graduated in 1974. Timothy and his mother Vera were the first mother/son combination to graduate from the Hurley School of nursing and later graduated from The University of Michigan with honors. He would go on to work in the surgical department for fifteen years where he met his wife Prudence Bentley when she applied to work in the Hurley operating room. The two wed in 1980 at the First Methodist Church of Mount Morris and together raised Donald Edward.
As Timothy’s illness advanced, the goal of his wife, Prudence was to keep he spirits up. She said, “ If I could make him laugh, his day would be better.” She achieved this by creating the alter egos Festus and Max. Festus was baldheaded, and Max had hair. When Timothy had bad days, Prudence would call on Festus and Max to cheer him up. His son Donald remembered his father teaching him many things, how to fly a plane, how to treat others according to the “Golden Rule.” The most important lesson Donald remembers from his father was “ "Laughing one time a day makes people feel better, about the world and themselves, and you are only here for a min. Live your life to the fullest, love everyone you can, and teach them to love everyone else, and leave this place better than when you got here”.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Prudence, son, Donald Edward and wife, Lisa, Munger, his beloved cats: Tugger and Rosie.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents.
