Obituary of Everett "Bud" Evans

Age 71, of Clio, died, Monday, August 20, 2018, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. In accordance with Everett’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life and Bud’s birthday will be held at Bud and Catherine’s home on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Bud was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 26, 1946, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Everett and Florence (Sykes) Evans. He graduated from Kearsely High School class of 1966. Everett and Catherine united in marriage on  March 22, 1975. This past March marked forty-three years of marriage.  He worked as a Committee Man for General Motors for 31 years before retiring in 1997. Bud was a proud member of the UAW local 599.  When he was not working, Bud could be found spending time with his family, camping, and enjoying airplanes and model trains.  Bud was known affectionately as “Poppie” and was known for telling “Poppie Jokes”. He could make light of every situation and was a huge jokester.

Left to cherish his memory  are his loving wife, Catherine Evans; daughters: Keelie Ann and husband, Chris Hillaker, Brandy Lee and husband, Rick Kennedy, Chad Everett and wife, Alicia Evans; grandchildren: Ricky Kennedy, SeaEra Kennedy, Hunter Hillaker, Reilly Evans, Logan Hillaker, Rekayla Kennedy, Derianna Kennedy, Treyshaun Kennedy; sister, Sue and husband, Paul Briody, nieces: Shannon Briody, Sue “Suzie” and husband Andre Salem; great-nieces: Kayleen and husband, Greg Johnson, Nadreen Salem, Rianna Salem, Leena Salem; great-nephew, Graeme Briody.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lucile Ackerman; nephew, Jason Briody, brother-in-law, Loren Ackerman.
