Obituary of Dorothy Marie Harsen
Age 89 of Flint, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will take place Monday, August 13, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Duane Sweet will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Dot’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.
Dot was born on February 7, 1929, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Ruth (Babcock) Harsen. She resided in the Flint area for all of her life. Dot attended Mount Morris High School. She went on to work for AC Spark Plug in their shipping and receiving department, before retiring in 1988. When Dot was not working, she could be found bowling, sewing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was fond of traveling and enjoyed visiting casinos.
Dot is survived by her children: David and wife, Janice Glady, Darlene and husband, Broderick Johnson; grandchildren: Sarah Potts, William Glady, Rachel Glady, Megan Glady, Danell and husband, Van McLaurin, Ashely Sanchez and partner, Jaquavis Sanders, Deshiona Johnson, Broderick Johnson, Louis Johnson; great-grandchildren: Chloe Glady, Kayla Potts, Kendra Potts, Ayden Glady, DeShia Glady, Serria Glady, David Glady, II, Devin McLaurin, Valiyah McLaurin, Admire White, Jayla Sanders, Aria Sanders, Clifton Terry, Promise Jenkins, Envi McClain, Montashia Brown; siblings: Caroline Hat, and John Harsen.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Harsen, and sister Annabelle Bunting.
