Obituary of Alvin Glenn Ashbaker

Alvin Glenn Ashbaker, age 71, of Clio, died Saturday, July 22, 2018, at McLaren Hospital in Flint. A memorial service celebrating Alvin’s life will take place 12:00 pm, Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Alvin’s family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm. Following the service, family and friends will gather at Alvin's favorite place on the Holloway Reservoir (12269 E. Stanley Rd.,   Columbiaville, Michigan 48421) to continue to share stories and memories. Alvin was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on November 14, 1946, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin and Merlinda “Mary” (Wilson) Ashbaker. He owned and operated Alvin Ashbaker Masonry for 40 years until his    retirement.  In his free time, Alvin enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends, spending time at his home away from home the Holloway Reservoir, with his companion, Beamer and watching the stock market. He will be greatly missed by many. Alvin is survived by three sons: Shannon Ashbaker and Fiancee, Angela, Ronald Ashbaker and girlfriend, Debbie Dole, Alvin and wife, Heather Ashbaker; two grandsons: Andrew Ashbaker, Caleb Martin; girlfriend: Carmen Panos; four siblings: Frank Ashbaker, Dorthey and husband, Eldon Bigger, Delford and wife, Vicki Ashbaker, and Mary Coffell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight siblings: Charlie Ashbaker, Bea and husband, Dale Redburn, Barb and husband, Ted Parcher, Ross Coffell, Bob Coffell, Betty Coffell, Beulla Coffell.
