Obituary of William Francis Finkbeiner
William Finkbeiner, age 81, of Birch Run, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 am, Saturday, July 21, 2018, at SS. Francis and Clare Parish in Birch Run. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris. William’s family will receive friends at SS. Francis and Clare Parish in Birch Run, on Friday, July 20, 2018, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of mass at 10:30 am. On Friday, family and friends will gather at the church for a wake at 7:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Camp Fish Tales, 2177 E. Erickson Road, Pinconning, Michigan 48650, 989-879-5199. Envelopes are available at the church.
William was born September 25, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Floyd and Ula (Wesley) Finkbeiner. He and Theresa Wolak were united in marriage on September 6, 1958, in Flint. William worked as an Operating Engineer for Operating Engineers Local 324 for many years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of SS. Francis and Clare Parish. In his free time, William enjoyed spending time with his family, volunteering at the Emmet Charlevoix County Fair, and collecting model trains. He will be greatly missed by many.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Theresa Finkbeiner; six children: Randy Finkbeiner, Cindy and husband, Andy Goulet, Lawrence and wife Brenda Finkbeiner, Greg Finkbeiner, James and wife, Lori Finkbeiner, Rita and husband, Daniel Trinklein; 16 grandchildren: Nathan, Zachary, Taylor, Jesseca, William, Bradley and wife, Jaclyn, Albert and wife, Niki, Lauren, Ashley, Brittany and husband, Cal, Austin and wife, April, Logan, Erika, Bayley, Stephen, Gerald; two great-grandchildren: Parker, Archer; two sisters: Loretta “Dee” DuBois, Susie and husband, Jim Jacobi; in-laws: Nancy, Barb, Wayne; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Thomas and Jack Finkbeiner; and two sisters: Phyllis Fortune and Lois Zuwala.
