Obituary of Norma Marianne Haemmerlein
Norma M. (Dupuis) Haemmerlein, age 88, of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, July 16, 2018, at 11:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci will officiate with burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery. Norma’s family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. On Sunday night, family and friends will gather to pray the Rosary at the funeral home at 6:00 pm. On Monday, Norma will be taken to lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass at 11:30 am. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Kraphol Senior Center or St. Mary Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home, or at the church.
Norma was born on October 16, 1929, in Standish, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew L. and Phoebe A. (LaBean) Dupuis. Norma and Eldon Haemmerlein were united in marriage on August 26, 1950, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Flint. Norma was a cafeteria worker at Westwood Heights High School in Flint, for twenty-three years, until her retirement. In her free time, Norma enjoyed traveling and had many fond memories of traveling with her husband Eldon to Gilligan's Island, Las Vegas, the Kennedy Space Center. She also enjoyed going on casino trips, crocheting and knitting, cooking, sewing, and gardening.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Eldon; her two daughters: Mary Anne and husband, Dale Hollister, and Teresa Sullivan; several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Bernadine McCarthy, Betty Moliterno, Donna Smith, Wally and wife, Bev Dupuis, and Tootie Sekelsky; and many other family members and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Phoebe; her brothers: Andrew and Kenneth Dupuis; her sisters: Yvonne Dupuis and Beatrice Mead; her five brothers-in-law; and her parents-in-law.
