Obituary of James Alfred Gorleski
James “Guy” Gorleski, age 67, of Vassar, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home, surrounded by family. A memorial service will take place Monday, June 25, 2018, at 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. James’ family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and then again on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
James was born on May 13, 1951, in Pigeon, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred and Leona (Deering) Gorleski. He worked at Flint Truck & Bus for thirty-three years, until his retirement in 2006. James and Rebecca were united in marriage on March 9, 1974, in Caro. In his free time, James enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was also a craftsman and loved the outdoors and traveling. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky; his three children: Mary and husband, Steve Tack, Malissa and husband, Wayne Mansueto, Mason and wife, Jamie Gorleski; seven grandchildren: James Tack, Rylan and Adalyn Mansueto, Madix and Macie Gorleski, and Becker and Bellamy Tack; his mother, Leona “Betty” Gorleski; sisters: Joann and husband, Don McCrumb, Connie and husband, Stan Lacy, Corky and husband Jerry Goodman; brother, John and wife, Mary Gorleski; sister-in-law, Penny Germain; brothers-in-law, Doug Bellamy, Rod and wife, Cinde Bellamy, Chuck and wife, Rene Bellamy, and Todd and wife Denise Bellamy; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his father, Alfred; his mother-in-law; his father-in-law; and his niece, Randi.
James’ family would like to extend a special thanks to nurse Sandie Beller, and the staff at Wellspring Lutheran Hospice for all their compassion and care.
