Obituary of Nelba Lue Thayer
Nelba Lue Thayer, age 70, of Oscoda, formerly of Clio, died peacefully Tuesday, June 19, 2018, with her family by her side. A funeral service will take place Monday, June 25, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Aaron Knapp will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm, and again on Monday, from 11:00 am until the time of service 12:00 pm. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Nelba was born on June 8, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Donald and Florence (Reed) Adams. Nelba worked as an EMT with C-M Ambulance Company for twenty-five years. In her free time, Nelba enjoyed going camping, riding motorcycles and four wheeling, taking care of her home and family, fishing, and hunting. Nelba was also a member of Women of the Moose, Birch Run Chapter #2142, and Harrison Chapter #1804. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being a mother was very important to Nelba, and she took great pride in making her house a home for her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Toni and husband, Dan Lorenz, Jamie Fisher, and Mikal Ann and husband, James Wilson; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Collin, Mackenzi, Lyndsi, Jodi, James, and JenaLee; five great-grandchildren: Spencer, Natalie, Jaxon, Iris, Whitney, and one on the way; brother John W. and wife, Gailene Adams; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nelba was preceded in death by her daughter Jody Thayer; her parents; her brother Nelson “Don” and wife, Jean Adams; and her sister Nancy Goldbrandson.
