Obituary of Elmer L. Mathe

Of Mt. Morris, age 85, died Monday, July 7, 2008 at Fostrian Manor. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Friday, July 11, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. AlAaas family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 8:00pm. On Friday, Al will be taken to church to lie in state from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris or the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Al was born August 29, 1922 in Alger, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Mary (Massinger) Mathe. He and Mildred Collins were united in marriage on April 3, 1954 in Flint. Al worked at Ternsted, retiring in 1980 after 30 years of service. Al leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 54 years, Mildred and brother, Stephen Mathe. Al is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty and Mary and brothers, Frank, John and Joseph.
