Of Grayling, age 96, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Mercy Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will take place January 27, 2010, at 1:00 pm at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Mercy Manor Nursing Home. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Bernice was born August 1, 1913 in Hadley, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Teressa (Strong) Taylor. She and Marvin Miller were united in marriage August 2, 1930.Bernice loved to play Bingo and card games with her brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Jean. She will be remembered for being family-oriented and her famous fried chicken or goulash.Left to cherish her memory are her children, David and wife, Lyda Miller, and Judy and husband, Jim Long; 11 grandchildren, 27+ great-grandchildren, and at least 15 great-great grandchildren; and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; two sons, Bernard and Phillip Miller; brother, Robert; one granddaughter, Susan Miller, and an infant great-granddaughter, Stephanie Jarema.
