Obituary of Janette Elizabeth McDowell

Of Bay City, formerly of Reed City, age 73, died peacefully Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Jones Road AFC in Bay City. Janette was born January 18, 1935 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Elizabeth (Fulmerhouser) McDowell. Janette retired from Giant Supermarket in Big Rapids after 21 years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching game shows, eating WendyAaas chili and her favorite Aa" playing Bingo! Surviving are her children; Diane (Cookingham) and husband Gil Skorupski of Bay City, Darlene (Cookingham) and husband Tom Olszewski of Grayling and Dean Cookingham of Monroe, Tennesee and her grandchildren; Stevie Marie Stromski of Romulus, Stacey A. Skorupski of Bay City, Spencer A. Skorupski of Mt. Morris, Ashley M. Olszewski of Belleville, April M. Chambers of Belleville and Krissy (Brandon) Allen of Alba. Janette is also survived by five brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William and Howard McDowell and sister, Louise Yorks. The funeral service will be held 6:00pm, Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at McDowell Funeral in Reed City. Rev. Dawn L. Pooley will officiate with cremation to follow. JanetteAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00am until 2:00pm and again from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.
