Obituary of Robert Russell Jinks

JINKS, Robert R. Of Genesee, age 86, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at home. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, on Thursday from 11:00am to 8:00pm, and on Friday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born November 19, 1921, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and LaVada (Allen) Jinks. He and Lavonne Mallo were united in marriage October 18, 1946. Robert worked at Buick for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the UAW #599. He served his country in the United States Army, during World War II, and was a member of the VFW #2777. Robert leaves to cherish his memory eight children: Lois (Darwin) King of NY, Robin (Tom) Hamilton of Lapeer, Russell Jinks of Bridgeport, Cheryl (Don) Gervais of Flint, Richard (Valerie) Jinks of FL, Charles(Sandi) Jinks of Fenton, Sarah (Greg) Wybo of FL, and Steven (Darline) Jinks of Mt. Morris, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two brothers: Ken Jinks, and Albert Spencer, four sisters: Lou Brown, Betty Hemingway, Virginia Walton, and Kathy Hohenstein, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Lavonne, daughter in law Sheri Jinks, grandson Roy R. Jinks, brother Alan Spencer, and sisters Pat Morse, C
