Obituary of Carol Lorine Charlotte Brown

BROWN, Carol Lorine Charlotte Of Vassar, age 69, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at home. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar. Pastor James W. Naumann will officiate, with cremation to follow. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar, on Tuesday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. On Wednesday Carol will be taken to church, where she will lie in state from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to to the Hospice of Hope St. Luke's Lutheran Church, or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Carol was born May 11, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Norah (Hatfield) Sohn. She and Ronald Brown were united in marriage on July 20, 1957 in Vassar. She served on a variety of church committees at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was also involved as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Carol leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years Ron, four children: Michael Brown, Linda and husband Charles Hare, Christine and husband Eugene Mardlin, and Scott Brown, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister in law Janet and husband Donald Gleeson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
