Obituary of Allan Meredith Franklin

Of Mt. Morris, age 92, died Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Rev. Robert Lilley will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. AllanAaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Wednesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. On Thursday, Allan will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris.
Allan was born July 25, 1916 in Brantford, Ontario the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson and Bernice (Slemmons) Franklin. He and Winnifred Hall were united in marriage on June 19, 1946 in Mt. Morris. Allan retired from Flint BuilderAaas Hardware in 1981 and was a very active member at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris.
Allan leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years, Winnifred; children, Nelson and wife Robin Franklin and Sharon and husband Robert Kline; sister, Elsie Russell and several nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.
