Of Mt. Morris, age 72, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at his home. A Private Funeral Service will take place 1:15pm, on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Genesys Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. John was born September 19, 1936 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Fairy (Davis) Cantrell. He and Nella Marie Rowe were united in marriage May 31, 1957. John worked at the V-8 Engine Plant for 27 years, before he retired, and was a member of the UAW #659. John leaves to cherish his memory four children: Gesele and husband Paul Ladiski, Lisa Mobley, Joey Cantrell, and Theresa and husband Gregory McDaniels, four grandchildren: Jason, Anthony, Michael, and Gina, two great grandchildren, two sisters Gracie, and Hanner, special nephews Paul, and Kevin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nell, and son Randy. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home, church or online at www.martinfuneralhome.com.
