Obituary of Edith Mellow

Of Burton, age 95, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Kra-Nur Manor. The funeral service will take place 11am, Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Fr. Jay Gantz will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm then again on Sunday 10:00am until 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to The St. Judes Childrens Hospital, St. Andrews Episcopal Church Food Program or to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Edith was born July 28, 1913 in West Virginia the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard and Adeline Millington. She and William Eric Mellow were united in marriage April 3, 1937 in Flint. Edith worked at Whimpy's Restaurant in Flint for 13 years. She enjoyed draft beer, spending time with her family and looked forward to "working" at Judy's Consignment Store. Edith leaves to cherish her memory her two children: Bill and wife Judy, Jim and wife Judi, two grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren, one very special niece Cheri and "Adopted children" Bob and Marcia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, daughter Marcia brother John, two sisters: Anne and twin Amy
