Obituary of Melvin Paul Brow
Age 90, of Mt. Morris, passed away, Sunday, June 3, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at his home, in Mt. Morris. The funeral celebrating Melvin’s life will take place 11:00 am, June 6, 2018, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring can make donations in Melvin’s name to FAD, the Flint Deaf Senior Citizens Club or Reverence Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
He was born on Friday, May 11, 1928, in Lake Leelanau, the son of the late Edmund and the late Delmina (Amore) Brow. He graduated from Michigan School for the Deaf. Melvin and Yvonne were united in marriage on October 21, 1950, in Breckenridge, Michigan. He worked for Buick Motors for 31 years oiling the production machines before he retired in 1980. He was a lifelong member of the Flint Association of the Deaf. He was treasurer of the FAD, OAD, and Michigan Deaf Sportsman Club. He was a member of the Flint Deaf Senior Citizens Club. He was inducted into the Greater Flint Area Hall of Fame for track. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing. Melvin was an all-around handyman who will be greatly missed.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Yvonne; three children: Wanda Hanna, Barry, and wife, Kathryn Brow, Roy and wife, Becky Sue Brow; 4 grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Ronald Brow, Merle Brow, and Eloise Heniser.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
